HOPPY EASTER…

wishing everyone a wonderful day with friends and/or family. We had the most delicious cranberry orange hot cross buns from Cob’s bakery this morning – lovely way to start a beautiful, sunny day.

And a little show and share…

I mounted this piece punched by Christine onto this lovely board – one of my Briarwood Folkart patterns…

Diane punched this beauty and mounted it to a primitive bench…

I decided to remount this piece on a box I painted and distressed and lined with wool (available for purchase in my Finished items for sale page)…

Nancy has asked me to punch a few pieces for her – crows, otters and loons = all based on Lisa Ferguson patterns – crows are done…

And I punched and mounted this Primitive Floral in a wonderful handcrafted (by Vince) frame I have been hoarding for a while (also available for purchase on my Finished Items for Sale page)…

and another piece I have put on the Finished Items for sale – Spotted Chicken…

and another piece finished by Diane and mounted on an old box…

SHOW AND TELL…

Well our chipmunk – Alvin – is back and pounding on the door looking for peanuts which we have been putting out for Little Red (our red squirrel) but she does not want to share!!! Have found a few tunnels in the strangest places – in a snow pile a few weeks ago, in the leaf pile in the woods and under biggg rocks. The tunnels are empty now so time to stock up on peanuts! or so we have been told..

I have received so many pix of finished items to share…

Karen finished her rug which she has entitled Buffy playing in the snow with Muffett…

Diane finished a few mini punch needle pieces…

Nancy finished another chairpad = the last in the series..

Kelly’s bound Farm piece…

Laura finished a few fun, primitive pieces for easter…

I finished another of the Horse punch needle pieces…

and my Woodsman…

SPRING HAS SPRUNG…

for sure – the snow is melting so quickly that we have actually been outside working in gardens and blowing away thousands (literally) of pinecones that fell over the fall and winter. It is so wonderful to be outside again that I am not even thinking about what such a warm and early spring might predict for our summer. My little plants are starting to sprout so deer be warned – I am going to buy a ton of Irish spring soap!!! Apparently, it is one of the few things that keeps the choppers from the garden. I have tried everything short of 10 foot fences so am willing to try anything.

Saw my first wooly bear caterpillar a few days ago while Diane and I were taking our daily walk. I picked him up and moved him into the longer grasses – not sure Diane was as keen on him as I was 🙂 . But another sign of spring!

Jill just sent me her finished punch needle Book Worm bookmark…

and I just finished mounting a piece I punched last week on a primitive boot jack Gord made for me – looks like a little painting on an easel and have listed it and a few other pieces on my Finished Items for Sale page.

WHAT A WEEK!!!!

My friend, Diane, who is my punching, junkin and walking buddy, was here for the past week and we punched up a storm. Here are pictures of some of the pieces Diane did and I did…

My adaptation of a Margaret Shaw pattern mounted on a Silent Butler from the 1940/50’s…

A KARLA GERARD pattern mounted on a vintage bread slicer…

this one is a punch needle pattern by Karen Kahle…yet to be mounted …

Diane’s version of a pattern from Old Tattered Flag…

and her version of my 4 Seasons rug but in miniature punch needle and mounted on a vintage ruler…

and her adaptation of my Twin Horses pattern… this will be mounted in the top of a tea box made from sewing machine drawer parts…
