Just in time for Easter! I finished this little punch needle and decided to attach it to a bag I made out of my rughooking linen remnants. Stitched a band of brown yarn around the edge and attached a frayed linen strap with two vintage mother of pearl buttons. Stuffed it with Easter grass – all ready now for filling (eggs, chocolate bunnies, jelly bellies!)for yourself or a loved one… For sale on my Finished items for Sale page. Finished bag measures 8 x 8 inches and would be 60.00 Cdn (about 44 U.S) plus applicable tax and shipping (I would remove the grass for flat shipping. Email me at hookedonthelake@kingston.net if you are interested…SOLD – THANK YOU MARY BETH

Anne sent me pix of her beautifully hooked and mini punched Lisa Ferguson pieces…

Sandra finished her fun Dancing Rabbits…

Beth finished this wild and funky Rooster in a class with Sue Barker (kits are available if you want to do this on your own. Email me and I can give you Sue’s contact information)…

LOOKING FOR A PATTERN…

Karen is looking for the pattern “Joy to the Wooled” – based on the artwork of Jan Shade Beach. These were available in Canada many years ago through Linda Low. When Linda, sadly, passed away the rights were passed on to someone else but we are not sure who now produces these fun fun patterns. If anyone can help – there was a whole series of sheep/Christmas related patterns – Karen and I would be appreciative.

Nasty, grey, wet day here but snow is melting! Yeahhhhh….

LOOKING FOR HELP…

for Carl who emailed me :

“I’ve recently purchased a rug with Rittermere written on the border, but I would be interested in learning the name of the pattern, as it’s an abstract pattern, I am not even sure what orientation to display it.   Should it have a finished border? Any help would be appreciated.”

If anyone knows this Rittermere pattern and can help solve the mystery with the name etc., please email me… thanks…Loretta

MORE SHOW AND TELL…

Yesterday as we were driving out to town, Gord said “Oh in a week it will be spring” to which I responded – “LOOK AROUND YOU GORD – NO SPRING!” Such an optimist – Gord not me…

Here are some lovely pieces people have sent me pix of…

Beth’s beautiful Maud Lewis and a few Deanne Fitzpatrick pieces done in Briggs and Little yarns…

Diane finished and mounted two mini punch needle pieces – one is of a Great Horned Owl photo taken by her sister – the other is ScrappyDiamonds …

Linda sent a picture of her DF fish pattern finished – love the colours…

In my upcoming showbinding finishing class Michelle will be working on these two pieces – the Chipmunk is one of my LISA FERGUSON patterns…

Judy will be working on these 2 pieces – the floral is 3 Blooms – one of my KARLA GERARD patterns…

Leslie finished her hand torn rug for her husband – this will be sooooo wonderful to step onto (or into!)…

and I finished mini punching another fun pattern by Bird in the Hand Primitives which is being attached to an antique oil container(I think it may have been an antique cream can originally but someone must have repurposed it for oil. I bought it because I love!!! the colours and I tried to pick up the colours from the container and use them in the punch needle piece as I just love the chippy peely colours. Waxed and buffed the can to get rid of the loose chips and can imagine it with dried hydrangeas in it (nothing that requires water as it is old and had some rust on the bottom and I doubt that the seal is water proof anymore. Another piece that will go on the sales page… (please note that the piece is not yet affixed – just laying on the surface)…

SNOW SALE…

SNOW SALE – more snow expected in the next few days and snow banks around my house are already 4 feet high – have we had ENOUGH snow. SHOW AND TELL…

Last year on a junkin’ excursion, Gord found this lovely antique carrier for me. I cleaned it up with orange glo and cleaned the paint drips and goop off with a razor blade. Then I waxed it with beeswax and oh, it went from dried out grey/brown to a rich red brown (may be Mahogany wood). It is a wonderful piece – great beside the bed with glasses, book and a bottle of water or as a magazine holder or on the coffee table with remotes (we have multiples of those!). I punched a rabbit (original pattern was by Bird in the Hand Primitives but I changed it quite drastically to fit this piece) to hopefully look like a fraktur painting – a bit flatter colours. I love the way it turned out. This piece is now for sale on my website hookedonthelake.wordpress.com under Finished items For Sale. The carrier measures 12 inches high by 12 inches wide by 12 deep. Cost would be $115.00 Cdn(83.00 approximately U.S.) plus tax if applicable and shipping – email me if you are interested at hookedonthelake@kingston.net.
