UPCOMING FIBRE SHOWS…

Ahhhhh, warm weather and a day with no rain! Of course, tomorrow it is supposed to be pretty nasty – thunderstorms and hot and humid! Does Canada really have 4 seasons 🙂 . Ahhhhh – I know we have black fly season, then mosquito season, then deer and horsefly season and then winter! But I will splash on my Deet and play in the gardens a bit and enjoy the sun on this spring like day.

**** addendum – forgot to post this yesterday and YUP it rained megabuckets this morning which I did not mind as it soaked in the new plants we put in the garden yesterday and the ones we moved!!!!  But because the black flies were just soooo fierce I let Gord do most of the work while I supervised from behind a screen door! For years I have been tempted to hook an honking big blackfly with fangs hanging onto a screen door – ohhhh maybe I could stretch screening across an old window frame and hook right into the screen!!! no background! 🙂 hmmmmmmm!

A few upcoming fibre shows to tempt you! A wonderful daytrip to these shows which are located in beautiful little towns with the opportunity to see a variety of fibre related vendors of supplies and finished items – what could be better.

Prince Edward County Fibrefest takes place next Saturday from 9 – 4:30 in Picton(Ontario)(fibrefest.ca).

Kawartha Yarn and Fibrefest in Fenelon Falls(Ontario) on June 8 from 9:30 – 4:30.(kyaff.ca).

ANDDDD…

A show of incredible, out of the box, fibre art at the Mississippi Valley Textile Museum in Almonte (Ontario) coming up at the end of June… hope you get to enjoy one or all of these fibre shows!…

  2. Hi Loretta C Thanks for highlighting Summer Fibrations! What a nice blurb. And the info for the other happenings. Nice to know what’s happening.

I’d like to use the fox pattern as my basis for learning how to estimate how much fabric I need. I also have to plan my brown bag piece. As soon as I saw the piece of gray sheepskin??, blue flax and wrinkled purple taffeta in the bag, I immediately thought of a winter view of water from a rocky shore.

Is it appropriate to do this at a one of the remaining meetings?? I’m happy to book you for some ‘private time’ at your place if you are open to that. I need to build my stash, and I think you have wool for sale?? Still want to do the dyeing thing as well at some point.

I emailed Cathy about picking up some wool for something at Olde Forge this Thursday. I wasn’t sure if she was doing business and she isn’t. She is at the hospital with her mom these days…I feel bad, such a difficult time.

We had black flies last week, but I was out most of the day doing garden stuff and didn’t get bit at all. There were lots of those “cloud” bugs the fly around your head and get in your mouth. I did get flowe baskets and my hummingbird feeders out. Within 5 minutes I was buzzed by one. Such a joy to see them back.

Off to see trilliums if they are out at Lis Allison’s (she’s a potter) place. The Red Trillium tour is June 1 -2, but we’re going to check this afternoon.

Wet weather here….drinking coffee surrounded by cats and watching Harry Potter. A very slack Sunday morning. Talk soon Nancy S
