RAIN RAIN RAIN – HOW WONDERFUL…

Never thought I would get down on my knees and thank Mother Nature for wet days but we have been suffering from this terrific heat spell and drought for far too long. There were days when even out on the boat it was toooooo hot! and the water toooooo warm! I kept searching for cold spots and when I would finally find one I would not leave it! But this morning we got rain – not enough! but I am hoping that over the next few days we will get more. My gardens – which have not been snacked on by deer thanks to my SCARECROWS! – are dry as a bone but I could practically hear squeals of joy as the drops hit the petals! Now of course! that means probably no boating for a few days because taking the cover off and putting it back on is a pain in the tush. But I am happy to sit in my porch and actually feel like hooking!

In the meantime, this coming Sunday July 29 is workshop day in the studio. I am teaching punch needle – a combination of beginner but also mini fish bones – how to finish the bones and what to do with them. Wendo will be teaching her beautiful needle felted Tulips. There are a couple of spots left in the needle felting class – please contact Wendo at wendovan@sympatico.ca to register and get further details. Here is a picture of her beautiful finished piece…

  3. My lawn is crunchy, my neighbours corn is yellow and the other neighbour’s soy is stunted. Bring on the rain. Tired of the heat/humidity.
