  2. I just checked out Westport and it would be fun. July 4th is a Tuesday, so just after the long weekend. We could stay overnight in Kingston or Gananoque, which has a more direct highway there for 2 nights. That way it would be a short drive to Westport. If we want to do that we need to decide soon and get a hotel booked because of the beginning of summer and the popular vacation area.

  4. Sending Carol an email as I don’t want to miss the hookin. Love the way Diane’s rug fits so nicely into the door. She did a great job on it. Sylvie and Tom’s pieces do not look like they are first time pieces. Perhaps they had a great teacher!

  7. Tom here
First off … Thank You Loretta for your advice when I started the project and the quick lesson when I bought it.

Yes, this was my very first rug done the traditional way, but I have done (along with my wife) several large (4 x 6 foot latch hook rugs) . I found the rag rug similar but there is a learning curve. I don’t know how many times I pulled out what I had done, but then, it all clicked. I did have to put it away for about 18 months, but brought it out this past Christmas when I was housebound with a cold, and finished it in a few days.

I have just started a larger piece of my own design and two more in the design stage, as well as a large kit that is ordered.

I guess you could say I was “hooked”.

    Tom
