Our guild (Rideau Valley Boots and Baskets) is celebrating its 35th anniversary and this Thursday is our open hookin. We have over 100 people registered to come – how wonderful is that! We will have 6 vendors, a rug display, door prizes (yippee) and snacks. Should be a fun fun day and oh my goodness, right afterwards I am leaving for our LAC SAM rughooking retreat weekend. I hope to come home with a completed rug and unfortunately probably 5 extra pounds! But I am sooooo excited!!!! Here is the pattern I will be working on (well firstttt I have to finish my old and dirty recycled geometric rug – only 5 5-inch blocks left to do, balance of border and show binding). This is one of the Karla Gerard patterns I carry called Neighbours and this is how Jill is hooking hers (soooooo want her rug!): I had all my wool scraps picked out and because they were hmmm too bright! and did not all relate well I over dyed them to dirty them up a bit and marry the colours. So my version will be a little dirtier than Jill’s but I know it is going to be fun fun fun to work on… So back to packing up for the hookin where I will be one of the 6 vendors! Hope to see some of you there.
Looking forward to seeing you, Loretta. I have started my Quebecois Primitive!!
This is a beautiful rug
Hi Loretta. I have missed you the last 2 times you were at the quilt shop I was having you do me the circular and oval shaped rug I was wondering if you still had it and if I could get it. Where is the guild open house I could come there if it’s okay
