HAPPY THANKSGIVING…

Hope all our Canadian friends have a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend. This is going to be a very unusual Thanksgiving for Gord and I as usually we take part in the Westport Studio Tour and host about 8 artists and up to 800 + visitors over the weekend. It will be quiet and strange not to have the house full of friends and amazing art. However, I do hope to make it out to the various stops on our tour this year – something I have not been able to do for a long time. Hope you can make it to some of them as well in between delicious turkey dinners and closing up cottages and clearing out gardens. It is always an event and a great destination.

I got a picture the other day from Susan who has finished a wonderful rug (design by Martina Lesar) that I thought you might enjoy:

Image 1and yes I have been able to do a bit of hooking myself – just have not finished any of the 4 projects I started (yup 4 – usually I work on one until it is finished but somehow!!! I ended up with 4 unfinished). Did take some hooking with me to Scotland – two purse flaps – one done in brigghhhhhtttt dyed nylons – and actually managed to get them almost finished in one day while Gord was attending the Ryder Cup (for those of you who are NOT golf enthusiasts this is a big event every 2 years and Gord was thrilled to get a ticket! – and I was happy to have a day off from planning and map reading and just being able to hook and enjoy walks in Fife). So once these are complete and finished off and cleaned up I will post pix.

Again to one and all have a wonderful Thanksgiving Weekend – we all have sooooo much to be grateful for…not the least of which is a wonderful art form that brings together women (and men) in fun and companionship.

  5. A most beautiful rug. Thank you for sharing it with your blogging community.
Much to be thankful for indeed. Just returned from the orchard and farm where we bought Tolman Sweet apples, honey crisps and an apple pie because my hubby cannot pass by apple pie. Went the the new cheese shop in Ancaster bought some 7 year old cheddar and have just had the best grilled cheese with Tolman Sweet apples. Blessed indeed.

  8. Lovely rug. I see the burst of light falling across it and wonder about fading over time.
